Harrow of the Week: The Crows

Harrow of the Week: The Crows

Finder’s keepers…as the crow flies.

This week, we focus on a card that is usually an unwelcome presence in a Harrow spread but nonetheless must not be ignored: The Crows. The image on the card shows a table covered in gold and valuables, studied by a trio of thieves. Two of the thieves are human and wear bird-like masks, while the third is an anthropomorphized crow wearing a bandage over one eye. None of them are people you would want to invite over for dinner.

The Crows is a card of loss and theft, often occurring in a dramatic or violent fashion and often involving something held very dear. This last point is especially true of the Wanderer. The Wanderer carries a collection of miscellaneous, seeming random items with him at all times, but everything has a purpose. He’s armed with a sword, a bow, and a staff, so he’s ready to take on any opponent. He has a sturdy gauntlet to protect his hand. He has a map to guide his way and a set of chimes to gauge the wind. He has a frying pan, a tankard, and even a birdcage. The Wanderer himself is [Read more…]
