June Full Moon in Capricorn 2018: Time For Reflection

June Full Moon in Capricorn 2018: Time For Reflection

Capricorn Full MoonThis month’s Full Moon involves three planets, all in rather interesting positions.

The Sun is in the tender sign of Cancer, while the Moon is conjunct Saturn in hard-working Capricorn. With this combination, we can get into some emotionally complex situations. We feel fragile and needy. But these might be needs that others simply cannot fulfill…which leads us to misinterpretation of other people’s intentions…which leads to a sense of rejection…which starts the cycle anew.

Breaking that cycle to find a calm center of self-awareness and self-care is the real solution. This is a very demanding time, and we are each likely to prioritize our own needs and wants over those of others. It would be wise to pause for a deeper analysis of our true motivations. Are we fulfilling our heart’s desire? Or the expectations of authority figures? Or something else? And what are we demanding or expecting of others to support that?

By discovering the true root of our own needs, and acknowledging those of others, we can refine our interactions. By conscientiously supporting each other, we can evolve together, rather than working at crossed purposes. Meditation and mindfulness practices can help toward this goal.

April’s Full Moon: Self-Assurance through Intuitive Strategy
by Thraicie Hawkner

Our Full Moon is on Sunday, April 29th, and exactly at 7:58pm here in Minneapolis. It’s in Scorpio this month, with the Sun in Taurus. Our instincts and intuition are at a high point, and the ability to read other people’s emotions is spot-on. The only draw-back is that the desire for stability, security, and control is also at it’s height. This combination can lead to unintentionally manipulative behavior.

This is a time when we need to be aware of our own intentions and actions, as well as having a non-confrontational game plan for those of others. We can’t change other people, but we can choose our response to them. Bear in mind that this aspect is affecting everyone. We have to remember that we all have different coping skills which may or may not be compatible. Also remember that anything we can do to provide and care for ourselves will prevent disappointment when others fall short of our expectations.

Interestingly, Saturn in its native sign of Capricorn is positively aspected to both the Sun and Moon this weekend. It is trine the Sun and sextile the Moon. This reinforces any plans or goals we might be striving for, and we should make some solid progress at this juncture. The only caveat is the reminder not to place excessive expectations upon others. They are mere mortals and likely to disappoint. Anything we can do for ourselves to move our own efforts forward will be met with success.

Emerald and Green Calcite are good stones to work with during this Full Moon. They could be paired with helpful herbs like Irish Moss and Balm of Gilead. Combining such items makes for very beneficial spellwork. Add a “Stability” or “Problem Solving” candle, and you’ve got this made!

New Moon in Aries, April 15, 2018

New Moon in Aries, April 15, 2018

By Thraicie Hawkner

The New Moon of April 15th is in Aries. Our key word is “dynamic”! We are apt to be more action-oriented than usual for the few days surrounding this dark moon. New Moon is always a good time to start something new, but this one is particularly prone to instigation.

Be aware that Mercury is also in Aries and has been retrograde. It will just be stationing direct, at this point. Don’t rush into anything crazy. There may still be some frustrations and hiccups. But do expect more successful forward-motion with your efforts in the days to come. Our Van Van oil, spray, and candles are designed to remedy any remaining difficulties.

Mars is still in Capricorn, as we discussed in the last newsletter. The key words are “Strategy” and “Purpose.” If we can stay focused on the goal and stay on plan, success is assured, especially with all this Aries power behind us! This week, there are also some powerful aspects that bring an emphasis on deep spirituality, awareness of use (or misuse) of power, and some serious consideration of religious beliefs and political & financial philosophies (Mars sextile Neptune and Jupiter sextile Pluto).

Shungite is a particularly good stone for this time. It is as dark as the New Moon, and helps to conduct/focus your intentions toward powerful manifestation. Consider combining it with Yarrow herb, to help overcome any fears or sense of weakness, that might be undermining your success.
