Nippon Kodo has just added three new scents to their morning star line of incenses to add the sacred scents of middle east and the americas to their line of single note incenses.
- Frankincense – also known as “Frank Incense” or True Incense, this is a famous ingredient in church blends. In ancient times, it was used as currency in some areas, because it was so prized. Modern research has shown that burning frankincense can affect our moods, lifting our spirits when down. No wonder it is used in worship. It is truly enlightening.
- Myrrh – Burned in Indian temples and churches around the world, Myrrh is a rich and cleansing scent used for purifying. Researchers are discovering that Myrrh smoke has physical anti-bacterial properties, as well. Go figure. Again, the ancients knew what they were doing.
- Sage – Used for centuries in America for spiritual cleansing in a smudging ceremony, sage is a powerful plant ally. When you want to smudge a small space or just want a lighter scent for your ritual, this little stick will do the trick nicely.
