New Moon 3° Scorpio – Oct 26, 2011

  Posted By admin

Scorpio teaches us that desire is worth considering.  New Moon is traditionally a time to dive deep into the unconscious, discover your secret desires, and tap into the emotional energy you need to manifest as the moon waxes.

New Moon in Scorpio
New Moon in Scorpio

26 October 2011 at 2:56 p.m. Central Daylight Time.
New Moon in Scorpio gives voice to Desire and calls us to take a deeper look and release what has been holding us back, or those things which we have held back or tamped down. We confront our fears here, so this isn’t just about naughty pleasure. This is where we touch the subconscious and either reveal hidden treasure or fall into darkness until we open our inner eye to see what we’ve avoided.

There is a good deal of energy available to use as fuel, if we accept our whole selves, strip away false doubts and limiting beliefs imposed from outside to reveal truth and use wisdom instead of whim to guide our paths. Thus, Scorpio is the sign of transformation, generation and sex or fertility.

Use journaling, meditation and set your intention for change and growth. Sure, you can do this at any time, but it’s even better when you can align with the moon and the rhythms of the universe.

Just a few days after New Moon, Samhain and the Celtic New Year arrive. This is the time when tradition teaches us that the veils are thin and our ancestors and other spirits come close. This bodes well for tremendously deep delvings in divination or meditative work, as well as an opportunity to let go of old patterns and create new ones.

We also get bonus energy points under this new moon: Venus and Mars are also in Scorpio so it’s a great time to plant seeds, ideas, anything which can bring out abundance of any shape or form. In fact, Jupiter is trine Pluto, and investments of energy, words or just about anything will have added influence and ripple affects. Use your words wisely and drop blessings abundantly!

Full Hunter’s Moon 18° Aries – Oct 11, 2011

  Posted By admin

Aries Full Hunters Moon11 October 2011 at 9:07 p.m. Central Daylight Time.

Aries is the sign of the Ram, a Masculine sign: outwardly expressive or extroverted. It’s element is Fire, which brings with it high energy, warmth, vision and intuition. Not only active, but a bit pushy and impulsive, and sometimes thoughtless as the Ram runs through any obstacles in its path. Some careful planning before entering Aries Moon is a good idea, to ensure you get the emotional push without running anyone over.

The three days in Aries around this full moon is the perfect time to reach out for courage, confidence and strength. With Mars in Leo on October 11th, it may be a great time for love. Follow your bliss! Do more than dream at this time, but make sure the first action comes at this time to get a lift from from the added energies available to you. It’s a great time to start a new project or jump-start a lagging one. Now is the time to invoke change! You can draw on the strength of the warrior spirit in you to the meet challenges and tests before you. If you’ve hit a plateau, you can draw on deeper reserves and go the extra mile and use the battering effect of the Ram to break through. By the time we get to October 13th, the Sun and Saturn will conjoin. It’s time to get realistic and press on. You might find a tendency to slow down and question your springboard start. Stick to your plan.

October is the Full Hunter’s Moon or Full Harvest Moon

This full Moon is also referred to as the Blood Moon, or Sanguine Moon.  In the Celtic Tree Calendar the wheel of the year the name of this moon is Gort (Ivy) which runs from September 30th through October 27th.  The Runic Calendar of Nordic traditions, (which is governed by half months rather than full months), divides this moon of the year by Gyfu (Gift) from September 28th through October 12th. Wyn (Joy) is active from from October 13th through October 27th. The Goddess Calendar names this moon of the year after Hathor or Samhain and runs from October 3rd through October 30th.

This is the time for final harvest, and for the hunt.  First frosts and falling leaves adorn the earth in northern climates. It’s time to prepare for the long winter ahead.  Probably because of the threat of winter looming close, the Hunter’s Moon is generally accorded with special honor, historically serving as an important feast day in both Western Europe and among many Native American tribes. The most famous of these feasts is on Samhain, October 31st, or the Feast of the Dead, later adapted to become All Hallows Eve or Halloween. Sources:  Farmer’s Almanac, Moonchild Lunar Calendar.

The Eye of Horus Eco-House | View from the Eye

  Posted By admin

I’m not sure if 25 bedrooms and 5 lounges qualifies as a house.  This Eye of Horus complex is more a private village or a defenseless castle.  Created by architect Luis de Garrido from Spain for Naomi Campbell, and free of any pesky budget limitations, this glass domed village (I refuse to call it a house) has it’s own microclimate. It’s all really quite mind-boggling. I mean, it’s great that it’s eco-everything (the Eye shape is actually formed by photo-voltaic panels).  It’s just the whole private island in Turkey is so James Bond, I keep wondering if it’s just an elaborate hoax (reported on dozens of sites) and I’ve fallen for it.

Eye of Horus Eco House
That's not a House, It's a Village

All the details of Ms. Campbell’s little Eye of Horus, including multiple other photos and diagrams are on the Inhabitat Article. which reviews all of the green tech involved.  The Inhabit site is worth checking out  in and of itself.

But I look at this amazing piece of art/architecture and I ask, Would I want to live there? I don’t know. That level of isolation seems a bit harsh, and although the building is all set up for eco-everything, what about getting to and fro . . . sailboats only, maybe? Somehow I doubt it. I’d love to visit, though.  What do you think? I’d love to hear other people comment on this one. It seems like a great place to go to get away from everything, and maybe that’s the point. That and simple uber-rich self-indulgence.  Very Pharaoh-like, really. Again, it seems so unreal. I suppose the first person who saw the great pyramid in all it’s glory, without knowing anything about its existence before-hand would have that same sense of wonder.
