Full Moon in Aquarius: Slingshot into Outer Space

Full Moon in Aquarius: Slingshot into Outer Space

The moon is full in Aquarius on August 15 (7:29 am)! Spring free and spring forth up into outer space! Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars in the sign of Leo pour the glamour, glitter, and gold on thickly. A lioness pounces on goals, taking pride in striving for success. What victories can be relished then loosed and catapulted into the great beyond to benefit all? A Leo quality is to shine in uniqueness, but the Aquarius moon asks how special talents contribute to the group.

Bruised egos and perceived slights cook up drama as a battle ensues to determine who is boss. Words are heated, and tempers flare hot. Fuel for self-expression wills strong emotions into creativity! Haughty kings and queens come out of the woodwork to sit upon the throne. Where do we reign as royalty, showering attention upon those we love and getting showered with love by others?

It is the season of sun-drenched summer parties and various forms of entertainment. How can we celebrate who we are and those we love? In the theatre of life, one side of the mask is the humorous clown, getting laughs from the audience by playing the fool. The other side of the mask is weeping, but will the performer convey tragedy and tears to the audience?

Jupiter in Sagittarius resonates well with the planets in Leo, as a fire is lit in the belly. What passions are calling to you at this time?

To cool heated situations and detach when needed, try burning one of Coventry Creations’ Emotional Balance candles. This rich blend of sandalwood and rose helps us find our emotional center and operate from a place of calm. To launch your unique talents and benefit the group, light some of Shoyeido’s Ruby incense. Part of their Jewel Series, this incense is designed to evoke the energies of the ruby, a stone of strength, heroism, and courage. To express joy as well as the vulnerability of sorrow, carry with you a piece of lapis lazuli. This stone has been revered for thousands of years for its noble qualities, and it helps us to express our desires to other and to the universe.

Full Wolf Moon January 2016

Full moon in Leo is party time. But underneath it all there are interesting power dynamics. Mars is in Scorpio, from now through the end of July. The entire first half of the year is time to find and align with your life mission.

The full moon in Leo invites us to find out how our light shines for the benefit of others. It’s not just “look at me,” it’s more “look and see.”

Other aspects worth looking at is Mercury coming out of retrograde and going direct, as well as Mercury conjunct Pluto. Get all the details in the latest Moon Magic Video:

Full Wolf Moon in Leo

It’s a Wild Leo Full Wolf Moon

The January Full Moon is also known as North Moon, Old Moon, Ice Moon, Earth Renewal Moon, Turtle Clan Moon, White Road Moon, Cold Moon, Snow Goose People Moon, Birch Moon.

We prefer to call it the Wolf Moon here at the Eye. Wolf sings out in the night, calling to other wolves, defining territory, and celebrating the moon’s light; much like some of us do in circle. We also are more aware of the wolf, because Minnesota is its territory. Ely Minnesota is the home of the International Wolf Center.

With this full moon, the wildness abounds. The wolf howls, but the lion roars.

This full moon is in Leo, the lion’s sign, which means the sun is in Aquarius.

Aquarius is about the whole being greater than the sum of its parts. When we tune in to the universe, and work with others, we become not just our own limited ego, but a force which can shape communities, and shift the direction we are going, from a downward spiral more up and out towards our ideals. Leo is about self-empowerment through creative leadership. It is a good time to call on Sekhmet, the Lion-Headed Goddess of Egypt. Her name is derived from the Egyptian word “Sekhem” (which means “power” or “might”).  Sekhmet was known as both a warrior goddess and a patron of healers, as both a creative and destructive force; but above all, she is the protector of Ma’at (balance or justice) and referred to as “The One Who Loves Ma’at and Who Detests Evil.” So if your cause is to help bring things into balance, you can call on her to protect your endeavor. Leo energy does not benefit a back-seat driver, but gives strength to a true leader who steps out in front, being that quiet example which inspires others to make their own changes.

Just one step out of your comfort zone, with a clear vision of things to come, can shape your whole year.

You know people who have dared and stepped out and become your inspiration. Your vision can be small things or large. Remember that the smallest nut can grow into a great tree, exploding with life and shelter for others. With the Sun in Aquarius, and the full moon shining through all your pockets of shadow, meditate and look for what is revealed, even if it seems a little nutty.

What gifts do you set aside, what enthusiasms do you dampen, what would make you leap out of bed to start a new day? What can you do for family, friends and community?  These are world-changing times, and the world changes one life at a time. The only world you can really change is your own. This is where Leo comes in. Make that simple change or that great one, and see where it leads. Look at other leaders and mentors, to see how they blaze paths and invite others.

As a caution, be aware this is also a time of obstacles and the occasional overreaching misstep. The start of any journey worth taking often has challenges and unforeseen circumstances we must deal with.  But the key is to know that your vision is true. Don’t worry about the steps not being what you expected. Think about a life or career that is most authentic for you. We too often ignore our own individual, quirky gifts, when that is exactly what we should put forward. Freedom is an Aquarian touchstone. Just remember to include the community aspect for a full Aquarian boost.
