Beaver Moon is the common US full moon name for November. As we’ve seen in the prior months, each symbolic name references a point within the epitome of the month. Beavers are coming into their fullness in November. So much so that the Natives knew to set traps early in the month because the beaver would be in her glory.
Other names for the full moon this month:
Dakota Sioux: Moon When Horns Are Broken Off
Celtic: Dark Moon, Pagan: Tree Moon, New Guinea: Tiger Shark Moon
Full Moon in Taurus
Taurus is very practical, and it’s elemental sign is Earth and is all about adapting to physical life. We’re talking slowing down and focusing on the things which make life a joy and pleasure. Think slow food, senseless beauty, time spent in nature. It’s all about being here now, not to bliss out, but to take in the present moment. Whether you take a walk, play an instrument, learn a new skill, dance, whatever, now is the time you are called to express and experience your physical life.
Explore your senses: sight, sound, smell, taste and touch. Cook a meal and share it. Explore the textures of your life, view everything as if through a documentary lens, or as a poet who wants to capture every detail. Be lush in your exploration. If you have a partner to do this exploring with in a more sensual fashion, so much the better! Taurus is ruled by Venus, who is all about love and beauty.
It’s also a good time to take stock of what has value, not just your bank account, but what people, places or things you value the most. Are you spending the time nurturing what matters most?
One way to honor the full moon is meditation. We found this on YouTube: 20 minute Full Moon Meditation. Blessed Be!
