Full Moon in Scorpio:  Holding Your Ground

Full Moon in Scorpio:  Holding Your Ground

The moon brims full May 18 (4:11 pm, CDT) near the last degree of Scorpio. Passionate intensity reaches peak pitch! Maintain the garden — be it actual plants and flowers or future goals — to see it flourish. What needs tending to and nurturing so it may remain vibrant?  An all or nothing approach can be harnessed and put to use, though stubbornness and inflexibility might show up.  Intensity of commitment is at hand, locking into place what is working well.  But black and white thinking can indicate a separation if something isn’t meeting the rigidity of all or nothing standards.  Possessiveness may show up similar to the eternal grips of a snapping turtle’s jaws, not letting go when feeling threatened.

The desire to stop and smell the roses feels more like a leisurely stroll than a sprint to the finish line. Taurus isn’t to be rushed.  Immersing in the five senses can be luxurious.  Yet the need to be comfortable and cozy aids in remaining stagnant and stuck, digging heels in and not moving!

Economics, relationships to money, how land is owned and valued get a fresh perspective this full moon.  Themes of ownership over our sexuality and our bodies are highlighted.  The time is fertile for transforming schemes once just a twinkle in the eye into what we can feel, hear, taste, touch, see and measure.

To get in touch with the sacredness of our bodies, try some of Eye of Horus’ Aphrodisiac essential oil blend. This passionate blend is both stimulating and luxurious. To stand your ground in situations worth fighting for, carry a piece of tourmalinated quartz. This stone helps bring us clarity to see situations for what they are and also helps to strengthen and balance us for challenges that lie ahead. To let go of unnecessary grudges, consider burning one of Coventry Creations’ Needed Changes candle. This candle is designed specifically to help banish anything from our lives that is keeping us stuck or held down.

May Full Flower Moon in Scorpio

May Full Flower Moon in Scorpio

Scorpio Full Moon Glyph and Full Moon ImageOn Sunday, May 3, 2015, we’ll have a Full Moon in Scorpio at 10:48pm CST. This Full Flower Moon brings us to the lusty month of May. The energy is earthy and sensual, urging us to dig our toes into the mud. Our psyche will be bringing up all kinds of toxins, such as possessiveness, obsessions, and resentments, so it’s a great time to cleanse, detox, and let go; getting healthy in the mind and body.

Scorpio is wickedly observant, making us highly aware emotionally. We’d recommend howlite to reduce crankiness and increase tactfulness, along with snowflake obsidian to assist with spotting patterns we need to work on.

Our May Moon Magic video digs into all the details, so check it out, then read on for a summary of the other astrological aspects to look out for:

The Full Moon in Scorpio brings a nature of desire. So our goal here is to determine what we want to set our intention & focus on, or to figure out what we need to let go of.

Mercury & Venus in Gemini bring about a mental lightness & flexibility, so don’t be surprised if you think one way, but feel another. It’s common to have this split reaction during this full moon.

Luckily, Mercury opposing Saturn gives us mental durability; boosting our investigative skills. So find something you want to study externally and/or within ourselves.

Venus in Gemini is flirtatious, but be careful because the Sun in Taurus during this time provokes our possessive nature. Be aware of how you use your charm. A great focal point for this Heart Chakra meditation is the Knight of Cups from a tarot deck.

Jupiter forms a T-square with the Sun and Moon, which frees up our feelings, so be mindful of melodrama. Choose just how you want to use this Scorpio intensity with consideration.

New Moon 3° Scorpio – Oct 26, 2011

Scorpio teaches us that desire is worth considering.  New Moon is traditionally a time to dive deep into the unconscious, discover your secret desires, and tap into the emotional energy you need to manifest as the moon waxes.

New Moon in Scorpio

26 October 2011 at 2:56 p.m. Central Daylight Time.
New Moon in Scorpio gives voice to Desire and calls us to take a deeper look and release what has been holding us back, or those things which we have held back or tamped down. We confront our fears here, so this isn’t just about naughty pleasure. This is where we touch the subconscious and either reveal hidden treasure or fall into darkness until we open our inner eye to see what we’ve avoided.

There is a good deal of energy available to use as fuel, if we accept our whole selves, strip away false doubts and limiting beliefs imposed from outside to reveal truth and use wisdom instead of whim to guide our paths. Thus, Scorpio is the sign of transformation, generation and sex or fertility.

Use journaling, meditation and set your intention for change and growth. Sure, you can do this at any time, but it’s even better when you can align with the moon and the rhythms of the universe.

Just a few days after New Moon, Samhain and the Celtic New Year arrive. This is the time when tradition teaches us that the veils are thin and our ancestors and other spirits come close. This bodes well for tremendously deep delvings in divination or meditative work, as well as an opportunity to let go of old patterns and create new ones.

We also get bonus energy points under this new moon: Venus and Mars are also in Scorpio so it’s a great time to plant seeds, ideas, anything which can bring out abundance of any shape or form. In fact, Jupiter is trine Pluto, and investments of energy, words or just about anything will have added influence and ripple affects. Use your words wisely and drop blessings abundantly!
